Commercial Oil is being extracted in the coastal waters of Guyana. The Exxon led consortium is has been the only successful venture to produce oil in Guyana’s portion of the Guyana-Surinam basin. The volumes are HUGE!
With a population of approximately 800,000, Guyana has a high potential for future development. Crude oil can be easily transported to the refineries in Houston, Atlantic Canada, as well as Europe.
